News and Events at Monroe County Health Department
Now available FREE drug testing for minors with a parent or guardian present, due to growing heroin use in Monroe County.
The test is a six panel drug test with the results available within 10 minutes. Complete confidentiality with referrals for both positive and negative results. After hour appointments will be available upon request. Testing is not available for employment purposes.

Breast pumps available for rental!
The Monroe County Health Department is now offering breast pumps for rental for all Monroe County residents. Fee is $10/month + a $20 start up fee. Individuals receiving Medicaid are eligible for a FREE double electric breast pump. Please call the health department for more information about breast pumps! |

Mosquito larvicide available to municipalities with standing water problems.
Abandoned swimming pools are a large breeding site for mosquitoes. Please notify the health department of any abandoned pools or standing water sites. If your municipality does not have a licensed applicator for the larvicide distribution, please notify the health department at 939-3871 ext.11 for applications. Click here for more information.

Attention municipalities: dead birds can be collected and tested for the presence of West Nile Virus.
Dead birds may be submitted this year for testing. Birds will be accepted for testing from May 6 to October 15, 2013. Click here for more information. |
